A diverse group of people, with different backgrounds, varied interests and a rich experience of working directly with communities, makes Prajayatna.
Prajayatna has a flat organizational structure with separate teams that are completely responsible for each of the key areas of work. The organization is guided by a core team composed of members from all teams.

Rashmi Hegde
President
Mrs Rashmi Hegde is a development professional with 25 years of experience in the sector. She has done her Master’s in Social Work from Roshni Nilaya, Mangalore. She was one of the members of the core team in MAYA, a not for profit development organization.

She has worked as District Head in Cohesive District Education Leadership Development Program, which is a state level collaborative program of Department of Public Instruction, UNICEF, Azim Premji Foundation and its Regional Resource Institution partners and aims to impart quality education through leadership development across levels within Department of Education. She has also had extensive corporate experience from her days as HR Manager in Software Pundits India Pvt. Ltd.
Narayan Ramalingam

Narayan Ramalingam has over 28 years of experience in Information Technology and Information Technology Enabled Services Industry (IT/ITES), having built organizations from scratch, lead global transformations and built and mentored global teams

Narayan has worked with leading global firms like Sony, Accenture, Wipro and is currently consulting with global organizations in terms of setting up operations in India in the IT/ITES sector. Narayan has led/supported CSR initiatives during his career with a focus on education and primary health care and has initiated/driven corporate support in this area. His focus is to contribute significantly to improving the quality of education through initiatives like Prajayatna by leveraging his corporate experience and contributing effectively to enabling the change that is required to make primary education accessible and of the desired quality.
Mary Punnoose
Secretary and Chief Functionary
Mary is the Chief Functionary of Prajayatna and is responsible for the overall organization and its strategic planning and programme conceptualization. She has been involved with Prajayatna since inception and has played a key role in the establishment of its work.
Read More A post graduate in Social Work, she has an experience of more than 15 years in the field of Education and has experience in working on the pedagogy of learning and governance of the public education system and has worked extensively with government schools and anganwadis to enhance the functioning and delivery of quality education.
Alex Rodrigues

He has over 4 decades of work experience in the social development sector. He, along with the core team of MAYA, has initiated and incubated three ntities namely Prajayatna – the education reform initiative, Labour Net
Read More(a social venture on skilling and livelihood) and MAYAORGANIC (a livelihood social venture for artisans). He has also co-founded Disability NGO Alliance – of which he is at present Honorary Secretary – and Social Convergence. He is also the chairperson of Social Development Society, a rural organization working in Anantapur District of Andhra Pradesh.
Saswati Paik

Saswati Paik is a faculty in School of Education, Azim Premji University, Bengaluru, engaged in research in education domain for more than two decades. She completed her M.Phil and PhD from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi.
Read More Her areas of interest include geographies of education and education of geography.She has done exhaustive field work to understand schooling in challenging contexts in India, especially natural hazard prone areas and armed conflict areas. She also works closely on geography education in schools. She has presented numerous papers in both national and international forums, written in various magazines and journals, and chapters in a few books published by international publishers.
Archana Nambiar

Archana Nambiar is the Chief Executive Officer at Navya Disha and an Advisor to Yunus Social Business Fund Bengaluru. She has over two decades of experience in the development sector, particularly on issues of education and child rights.
Read More As a consultant with non-profit organisations and funders, a substantial part of her work revolved around strategy development, execution, funding, monitoring and evaluation. Previously she has worked with organizations such as Pratham Books, Tata Trusts, Education Development Center and Aga Khan Education Service, India. She also serves on the board of SATHI – Society for Assistance to Children in Difficult Situations. She has a postgraduate degree in Social Work from the University of Mumbai.
Vijay Bharadwaj

Vijay has over 4 decades of experience in managing human resources in Aeronautics, Automobiles, Chemicals, Banking and Information Technology. He has helped build many organizations from green field stage to maturity. He has led Human Resources

He has in-depth experience of managing multicultural organizations across the entire Asian region. He has worked with leading Indian and global companies like HAL, Eicher Good Earth, SRF Ltd, Digital Equipment Ltd, Deutsche Bank AG and Dell Inc. He was also on the board of Dell International Services for 11 years as a Whole-time Director and has worked in Singapore, India and briefly in Australia. He was also one of the founding directors of The Shriram School in New Delhi which he helped build, over a 9 year period, to create a child-centred institution.
Vijay is keen on helping build capabilities in the field of education in India. He has supported many CSR initiatives while working for corporations primarily focussing on education and children and now supports NGOs.
