OUR WORK

Inclusion of children with disabilities

Ensuring education for all

At Prajayatna, the mission is to create a more inclusive and empowering future for children with disabilities. Every child, regardless of their abilities, deserves access to quality education and the right to live a life filled with opportunities and happiness. The following is done to enable the learning and development of children with disabilities

Inclusion and Individual Education Plans (IEPs)

Efforts are made to ensure that the schools are Inclusive  and the learning process  supports the diverse needs of all students. THe teachers are trained to identify and understand the different disabilities including those who are neurodivergent. During the teachers collectives, the teachers are supported to design strategies to create a supportive environment for all children in the classroom. Lesson plans are made to accommodate the children with disabilities in the learning process.

In order to address the needs of children with disabilities, Prajayatna collaborates closely with parents and teachers to create Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for children with disabilities. This helps both the teachers and parents to work with the children according to their level of development and need.

Ensuring Rights and Entitlements

One of our fundamental principles is to ensure that every child with a disability fully comprehends their rights and entitlements. Systems created to ensure that information dissemination is done and reaches all children and their families so that they are able to access the government programs and camp. To achieve this, Prajayatna works in collaboration with various departments, including Education, Health, and Disabilities. These joint efforts allow us to provide comprehensive support that addresses the unique needs of each child.

Empowering Parents with Knowledge

Prajayatna provides valuable information and support to parents, teaching them how to perform simple therapies at home to support their child’s development. We believe that the family is an essential part of a child’s journey to success, and we are dedicated to empowering parents with the tools they need to support their children effectively.

Community engagement

To guarantee that the voices of parents of children with disabilities are heard, the School Management Committees (SMCs) and Gram Panchayats  are oriented to be sensitive and address the needs of children with disabilities. Empowering the parents to engage with these bodies and in decision-making processes ensures that the unique needs of their children are considered at every level of the educational system.
