The idea is to address the issue of lack of quality in the public schooling system by ensuring the participation and involvement of the actual stakeholders – the community, through a decentralized approach to educational governance. This will, in turn, bring about accountability and transparency within the system. For this, there is a need to institutionalize and develop the capabilities of the various structures, namely the School Management Committees and the key elected representatives of the community from the Panchayati Raj at the three levels – the Gram Panchayat, the block and the district level. To resolve issues at their level and also actively engage with the Department of Education and the Rural Development Departments are to solve issues of the schools, with a specific focus on the inclusion of all children so that all children have access to quality education. This will in time redefine the role of the State and the community

In order achieve this number of meetings are organized in the fields with various stakeholders such as community, parents of the children enrolled in the schools, gram panchayat, teachers and headmasters of the schools. These are the platforms through which community members are encouraged to interact with the education department, raise their concerns about the schools and put forward their demands for the betterment of the schools both in front of the administration and the panchayat.
